Newfoundland Aquaculture Industry Association honoured

The Newfoundland Aquaculture Industry Association (NAIA) has received an award from the Canadian Forces Liaison Council (CFLC).

The CFLC is a group of Canadian civilian business and educational leaders who promote the Canadian Armed Forces Reserves.

The NAIA was recognised for going “above and beyond” for supporting primary reserve employees, said a tweet posted by Mark Lane, executive director for the NAIA.

Four years

The NAIA and other Canadian businesses gathered in a ceremony last week at Government House in St John's, Newfoundland where they accepted the award for their commitment to the Canadian Armed Forces. NAIA has spent four years supporting the CFLC.

The NAIA is the provincial association that speaks for this province's seafood farmers, representing their interests to regulators, policy makers and political leaders.

The Canadian Reserve Force is composed of Canadian armed forces members who enrolled for service other than continuous full-time military service. The Reserve Force has four sub-components: the primary reserve, supplementary reserve, the cadet organisations administration and training service and the Canadian Rangers.
