Fusion Marine moves to European Science Park
Fish farm equipment manufacturer Fusion Marine is moving its administration office from Barcaldine to new facilities at Malin House at the European Science Park in Dunbeg, Oban.
The company says the move will enable it to benefit from the synergies created by being part of the cluster of scientific expertise at Dunbeg, aiding in aquaculture research and development programmes.
It will also enable Fusion Marine to share its expertise in aquaculture equipment systems with the marine scientific community.
Fusion Marine will continue its manufacturing operation at Barcaldine and is currently in the process of recruiting for an additional two staff for that site.
Moving the office premises will also benefit the local economy by freeing-up space at Barcaldine for the new Scottish Sea Farms hatchery that is being developed there.
Stephen Divers, managing director of Fusion Marine, said: “This is great news for Fusion Marine and the European Science Park as it will aid the process of creating a cluster of marine expertise and knowledge at the site.
“It also means that we will still be very close to our manufacturing base at Barcaldine by Loch Creran, where we are looking to expand the workforce further.”
