The AquaBioTech Group will address the challenges faced by the Middle Eastern and African aquaculture industry at an exhibition in Abu Dhabi next week.
A round-table discussion hosted by the group at the Global Forum for Innovation in Agriculture (GFIA) from 20-21 March will cover topics such as species selection, production strategies, monitoring and control, technological trends, biosecurity and the benefits of a good project design. The role of recirculating aquaculture technology in the industry will also be on the agenda.
The AquaBioTech Group undertakes a variety of aquaculture, fisheries and aquatic environmental projects through its regional offices and partners throughout the world. The company’s work encompasses aquaculture developments and market research/intelligence, through to project feasibility assessments, finance acquisition, project management, technology sourcing and technical support and training.
GFIA is the world’s largest showcase of sustainable agriculture innovations. A spokesman said: “Unlike other major agriculture events, GFIA is uniquely committed to meeting the needs of both large and smallholder farmers by presenting the best available and emerging solutions with the potential to deliver higher yields without damaging our natural resources and climate.
“GFIA is not only a forum for key stakeholders to discuss policy, strategy and solutions for a food secure future, but a live marketplace for suppliers to meet thousands of farmers and procurement managers from government, food producers, agri businesses, NGOs and cooperatives.”
