Marine Harvest (Scotland) Ltd are awaiting planning permission to install a fish farm on the Isle of Rum. This is part of a move to expand the business by developing a number of new sites on the west coast of Scotland. As a result we are looking to start the recruitment process for the following vacancies in the next few months:
Farm Manager – Salary £43,000 to £49,000 plus Bonus and Allowance
As Farm Manager you will be responsible for the day to day planning and running of the farm, managing biological and financial targets, motivating a workforce and operating in a safe and well maintained working environment. Initially the role will involve overseeing the construction of the site. The successful candidate will ideally already be a Site Manager within the aquaculture industry with proven ability for developing site infrastructure and establishing best farming practice.
Assistant Farm Manager – Salary £26,942 – £29,394 plus Overtime, Bonus and Allowance
The Assistant Farm Manager will assist and support the Farm Manager in the day to day running of the farm. The ideal candidate will have proven management experience, strong organisational, planning and administrative skills and excellent husbandry skills. Working knowledge of “Aquafarmer” production software would be an advantage. The Assistant Farm Manager will be expected to deputy for the Farm Manager as and when required and must be capable of supervising all farm operations including smolt input, grading and harvesting.
Employees will work on a two week on/off rotation and will receive a holiday and location allowance in addition to their basic salary.
